Cell-Tek Cellular Confinement System

Cell-Tek Cellular Confinement System is useful for shoring up steep slopes and for creating a stable platform over which you can install pavers, stone, or pedestal systems. Choose from the LSG Series or the SlopeGrip Series. Both series are inexpensive, easy to install, and can protect the integrity of your project.

LSG Series

Load Support Grid (LSG Series) provides superior support to your pavement system. The system confines materials and prevents lateral movement away from the applied load. The stabilizer grid acts as a large mat, by spreading the load over an extended area while increasing the load bearing capacity of the pavement surface. By using Cell-Tek you can increase the load bearing capacity of base materials and reduce excavation and infill material by up to 50%. Three different depth cells are available to support a range of loads.

SlopeGrid Series

SlopeGrid is the perfect solution when you are concerned about controlling erosion and protecting slopes. Soil erosion occurs naturally on all land. On steeper slopes erosion can occur more quickly especially if water is not attenuated. Water, wind, and gravity work together to displace unprotected soil. Limited ground cover and slopes cleared of vegetation from earlier fires or severe weather events increase the chances of further erosion. Severe weather events increase the rate and magnitude of future erosion on unprotected slopes. SlopeGrid cellular confinement system is an economical long-term solution consisting of a giant blanket of connected cells which fortify the earth, preventing erosion, soil migration, and damaging shifting forces due to the forces of water and wind.

History of Cellular Confinement Systems

Research and development of cellular confinement systems (CCS) began with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in September 1975 to test the feasibility of constructing tactical bridge approach roads over soft ground. They concluded that a sand-confinement system could be developed that would provide an expedient construction technique for building approach roads over soft ground and that the system would not be adversely affected by wet weather conditions.
