Stone is the Forever Material

Architectural natural stone is the world’s oldest building material, yet it remains one of the most relevant choices for today’s architecture, landscape, and luxury living projects. From the basalt streets of ancient Rome to modern rooftop terraces, natural stone has always represented durability, sustainability, and timeless beauty.

At HDG Building Materials, we don’t just source stone; we make it easy for architects, builders, and owners to select the right materials and finishes through our White Glove Service.

Why Natural Stone Still Matters

Choosing architectural natural stone isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about making an impact, longevity, and creating a legacy.

  • Durability & Longevity: Stone endures for generations, often outlasting the buildings it supports.
  • Sustainability: A natural material that can be reclaimed, reused, and integrated into eco-friendly design strategies.
  • Unique Beauty: Every piece carries patterns, textures, and colors impossible to replicate in manufactured materials.
  • Emotional Connection: From iconic plazas to timeless residences, stone evokes history, permanence, and stability.

Design Without Limits

Any shape, any size, any texture or finish.

With tight dimensional tolerances, HDG allows you to design as you like. If you want a curvilinear paving pattern with large-format 2- to 4-foot pieces that fit together like a puzzle, even with multiple finishes, we can do that. We can also set it on a roof deck using Buzon pedestals, which make it easy to install curvilinear and radius-cut pavers while still maintaining even, open joints.

HDG stone can be installed pedestal-set, dry-laid, sand-set, or mortar-set. You can also play with textures, knowing that light reflects differently off each finish. The same stone can reveal a surprising range of looks depending on the finish you choose.
