Community Architecture at Treehouse

Commercial Project: Community Architecture at Treehouse Koreatown
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Project Overview

Treehouse Koreatown, a 13-unit, 58-bedroom co-living apartment building nestled in Los Angeles County, embodies the essence of Community Architecture. With its rooftop meadows and inviting common spaces, this project is a testament to connecting people in the bustling metropolis. Amidst 82 distinct neighborhoods where isolation can loom large, Treehouse creates community, within its walls and beyond. It’s thoughtful design blends private living spaces with shared amenities, such as the breathtaking rooftop deck complete with gardens and spaces to gather. The rooftop deck boasts a captivating ambiance, thanks to the warm cumaru hardwood pavers installed over slope-correcting Buzon Pedestals, ensuring both beauty and functionality.

Architecture that Connects

Envision gathering spaces where residents converge for lively discussions, cultural exchanges, or collaborative endeavors. Through thoughtful design elements and intentional spaces, architects have the power to cultivate environments that nurture social cohesion, empower individuals, and enrich the fabric of our communities. Now, imagine rooftop gardens adorned with lush greenery, serving not only as aesthetic retreats but as vibrant hubs where neighbors gather and forge bonds over gardening projects. These elevated spaces offer opportunities for communal gatherings, whether it’s an impromptu yoga session at dawn or evening dinner conversations under a canopy of stars.

Cumaru Pavers Over Buzon Pedestals

Cumaru Hardwood Pavers offer timeless elegance and eco-conscious beauty. Often mistaken for ipe hardwood, Cumaru, also known as Brazilian Teak, offers a stunning array of golden tan to reddish-brown hues with captivating dark grain accents. Renowned for its longevity, Cumaru boasts a lifespan of over 50 years without the need for preservatives, thanks to its natural resistance to rot, decay, and insect infestation. Our FSC® certified Cumaru hardwood is responsibly sourced from managed forests, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice for your outdoor projects.

Cumaru 2×2 Hardwood Pavers are assembled with corrosion resistant, heavy duty deck screws and include a kerf cut design for attachment to Buzon Pedestals.
